Fluid Art | Dirty Ring Pour Canvas

INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
When working with Fluid Art Ready-to-Pour paint there are several different styles and techniques you can use. My personal favorite and then one I am using for this project is the Dirty Ring Pour, but you can see a list of all of the different types on the DecoArt website.
- Start by pouring your Ready-to-Pour paint colors into a plastic cup one at a time. There's no set amount of each color you need to pour, you can experiment to see what gets you the best results.
- Make sure to layer each color on top of the other, creating circular rings. Create several layers of paint for a more complex design.
- I like to prime the canvas with the Americana Premium Extender Medium. This product will help extend the drying time and blending time while you work with your Fluid Art Ready-to-Pour paint. Use a paintbrush to evenly paint the entire surface of your canvas with the Extender Medium.
- Now, all that's left to do is pour your paint! Hold the cup of layered paint above the center of the canvas and move the cup in a circular motion slowly pouring the paint onto the canvas. Carefully lift the canvas and tilt it slowly to influence the flow of the paint and cover the entire canvas. If you want to fill in any white space simply add more ready-to-pour paint to get the desired look. Another option for filling in blank spaces, or creating a different texture is to use a paper straw and gently blow the paint in one direction until the desired effect is achieved. I used this to create the ripple effects on the left side of my canvas. You can also give your artwork a touch of glam by adding gold glitter to some of the sections of gold paint.
- Let the canvas dry completely and then proudly display your new abstract art.
