A clock, a pair of wrenches, and a tin box are the basis for this robotic accent for a boy's bedroom.

SUPPLIES

    • 3/4" flat brush
    • #6 flat brush
    • #8 flat brush
    • wooden blocks
    • wooden dowel rod
    • found objects
    • papier mâché box
    • E6000 Glue
    • round wooden disks
    • metal drill

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Using a #8 flat brush, paint the wooden blocks for the robot's legs and neck and the wooden dowel in Silver. (I used three medium-sized blocks for the legs and six small blocks for the neck.) Using a #8 flat brush, paint the round wooden disks in Pumpkin Patch.

    3. Using a #8 flat brush, paint the clock in Night Sky. Using a #6 flat brush, paint accents around the clock face in Silver and Pumpkin Patch. Use E6000 glue to adhere the block (neck) to the top of the clock. (Make certain that you leave room for the wooden dowel.)

    5. Using a #8 flat brush paint the box (for the neck) in Cobalt. Begin assembling the robot's body parts with E6000 glue. (Refer to photo for placement.)

    7. Using a 3/4" flat brush, paint the tin "head" in Night Sky. Using a #8 flat brush, paint knobs for the ears in Night Sky and Cobalt and for the eyes in Coastal Waters and Chartreuse. Drill holes into the tin box and secure the pieces in place. (Refer to photo for placement.)

    9. Using a #6 flat brush, paint accents around the perimeter of the tin lid in Cobalt and Coastal Waters. Using a #6 flat brush, paint the top knob in Pumpkin Patch.

    11. Place the lid on the tin and adhere the screws for the mouth with E6000.

    13. Adhere head to the body with E6000. Using a #6 flat brush, paint the wrenches (hands only) in Pumpkin Patch and two nuts in Pumpkin Patch and Coastal Waters. Place the wooden dowel across the shoulders and hang the wrenches as arms. Secure by adhering the two nuts with E6000. (Refer to photo.)
