Gelli Arts® & American Premium Mixed Media Journal

Gelli Arts® & American Premium Mixed Media Journal

Posted by DecoArt on Jun 12th 2019

Hello! My name is Melina, and some of you might know me as Minas kreativa on social media. It´s my first time on the DecoArt Mixed Media blog, and I´m so excited and honoured to be here.

For this occation I was asked to work with DecoArt Americana Premium paints and Gelli Arts® products, and oh, that made me happy! I love to make my own prints and the Premium paints work so well on the printing plate. As you will see in the video, my oldest Gelli Arts® printing plate is well loved and well used. ;)

I decided to make a journal for this blog post, so you could see the paints, stencils and printing plates in action. It´s very easy to make a journal with a back-to-back binding. Making journals is another of my obsessions. I enjoy making them almost as much as creating in them.

I was so happy when I found out that the 5x7” printing plate was the exact same size as some sturdy cardbases I had in my stash. That´s when the idea of making a journal was born.

I used one of the mini plates as a guide to cut out shapes to work as closure for the journal.

The video includes the printing process, the binding of the journal and the closure. I have not done any actual journaling in the book in this video, or it should have been too long.

Can´t wait to start to journal in it though, so if you follow me on social media I´m sure you will see more of this journal in the future.
