Paint your own diy throw pillow using your favorite colors and design with SoSoft® Fabric Paint.

    • 1/2" flat brush
    • cardboard
    • 1" painter's tape
    • white cotton pillowcase
    • inner cushion

    1. Gather the supplies. Pre-wash and dry the pillowcase according to the manufacturer's instructions and without fabric softener. Once dry, insert the cardboard into the pillowcase to separate layers and prevent paint from bleeding through to the other side.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Put painter's tape around the outside seam of the pillowcase to keep edge clean. Start with several pieces of tape about 6" in length and lay one across the corner of the pillowcase so that it makes a triangle. Continue laying down tape to form triangles until the entire pillowcase is covered. (Vary the size and angles of the triangles. Feel free to throw in some other geometric shapes as well, but avoid placing tape parallel to another piece.)
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Using a flat brush with a crisp edge, fill in the sections with Dark Rose, Baby Pink Deep, Lamp Black, and Lavender. (Do no overload your brush and use caution near the tape so that the lines stay clean.)
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Continue until all sections are painted. Avoid painting a section the same color as adjacent sections. Allow to dry completely. You'll likely need to apply a second coat to most sections.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Once dry, remove the painter's tape. If needed, touch up any edges that are not clean and crisp.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. Select two or three sections of each color and apply glitter paint over them. Use the following pairings: Lavender, Clear Ice (Glitter); Baby Pink Deep, Hologram (Glitter); and Lamp Black and Dark Rose, Pink Ice (Glitter). Allow to dry completely and insert inner cushion.
