Giant Fork and Spoon Makeover with Chalky Finish

Transform an old flea market find fork and spoon wall decor into a whimsical piece of decor using Chalky Finish.
SUPPLIES
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- wax paper
- fine-grit sandpaper
- 2" foam brush
- clean cloth
- 1/2" stencil brush
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Paint several light, even coats of Romance over front of surface, letting paint dry completely between coats. Repeat for backside of surface.
- Using fine grit sandpaper, lightly sand around edges of fork and spoon to remove just a bit of the paint. This step is optional, skip if a rustic look is not desired. Wipe down with a clean cloth.
- Place a small amount of Lace onto a palette. Dip stencil brush in a small amount of paint, wiping off excess onto a paper towel. Position Cafe Paris fleur de lis and swirl motif. Use a rapid pouncing motion, paint over stencil.
- Use the letters e, a, and t from the word "chateau" from French Living stencil. Repeat process as previous step.
- Use fine grit sandpaper over stenciling to create a distressed look. Wipe with a clean cloth.
- Using sponge brush, apply a light coat of Clear Creme Wax. Use clean cloth to buff once dried.
