Gingerbread House Canvas Ornament

Turn a plain canvas into a sweet gingerbread house ornament and sweeten up your tree.


    • scissors
    • pencil
    • #10 flat brush
    • craft glue
    • black fine point marker
    • ribbon to match
    • 4" x 4" canvas panel
    • tiny wooden gingerbread man
    • beige and light blue scrapbook paper


    1. Using #10 flat brush base coat the canvas with Burlap

    3. Use pencil to trace gingerbread house to scrapbook paper and cut out.

    5. Using liner brush add details in True Red, Baby Pink and Snow White.

    7. Using #10 flat brush, paint the tiny wood gingerbread man in Milk Chocolate. Using a liner brush add accents/details in Baby Pink Snow White and True Red.
    8. Tear blue scrapbook paper (slightly smaller than the size of the canvas) and decoupage on with #10 flat brush.

    10. Using a #10 flat brush, decoupage the blue paper to the canvas. Use #10 flat brush to paint snow in Snow White.

    12. Decoupage the house on top using #10 flat brush.
    13. Using liner brush paint the snow by dabbing dots and paint the tree top. Using liner brush paint the tree trunk in Milk Chocolate and the ornaments in Baby Pink and True Red.
    14. Using liner brush add dotted lines in Snow White around the perimeter.
    15. Add details using extra fine point permanent black marker.
    16. Cut ribbon about 5 inches long, and adhere to the back with craft glue.
