Grain Sack Numbered Magazine Rack

Turn a plain magazine rack into a clean contemporary piece using Americana® Stencils and Chalky Finish™ paints.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • 2" flat brush
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • 2" painter's tape
    • magazine rack

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Clean the magazine rack to make sure it is dust free.

    3. Use a 2" flat brush and Everlasting to basecoat the entire rack. Rinse brush.

    5. Let the rack dry completely.

    7. Use painter's tape to mask off the grain sacking stripes starting with the biggest middle stripe.

    9. Use a 3/4" flat brush and Primitive to paint in the whole stripe. Rinse brush and let dry completely.

    11. Repeat Step 4 & 5, using a smaller stripe. Repeat for the third stripe.

    13. Let the magazine rack dry completely before stenciling.

    15. Lay the stencil where you want to add two numbers of choice. Load a cosmetic sponge with Rustic and lightly dab on the numbers. Wash stencils at the end.
