Grain Sack Striped Suitcase Storage Table

A suitcase and suitcase rack become a unique table when painted with Americana Decor® Chalky Finish.


    • water container
    • paper towels
    • painter's tape
    • 2" flat brush
    • 2" foam roller
    • stencil of your choice
    • drill gun
    • E6000 Glue
    • suitcase
    • 1" stencil brush
    • suitcase rack



    Thoroughly wipe inside and outside of old suitcase and rack before painting.

    1. Clean the surfaces of the suitcase and suitcase rack thoroughly with a damp paper towel.

    3. Using a small roller, paint all sides of suitcase and hardware in Timeless.

    5. Cover the inside suitcase fabric with painter's tape and paint along the suitcase edges in Timeless.

    7. Use painter's tape to adhere the stencil of your choice onto the top of the suitcase.

    9. Gently dip a stencil brush into Legacy and dab onto a paper towel to remove excess paint. Dab the paint onto the stencil, using a light up-and-down motion. Move the stencil onto the other edge of the suitcase and repeat. Use Serene on the small striping.

    11. Continue stenciling on the handle side of the suitcase, carefully matching stripes.

    13. Paint the suitcase rack in Timeless using a 2" flat brush. Place the suitcase onto the rack. Attach with E6000 Glue and/or screws for added durability.

    15. Apply a coat of Ultra-Matte Varnish to the entire surface.
