Hand-Painted, Wooden Conversation Hearts

Spell out a Valentine's message on wooden hearts painted with Americana® Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • sandpaper
    • 1" foam brush
    • fine tip paintbrush
    • small alphabet stencils
    • foam stencil brush
    • chunky wooden hearts

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Use fine grit sandpaper to lightly sand any rough areas of the wooden hearts before painting. Wipe clean with paper towel or lint free cloth. Allow paint to dry between each coat.

    1. Gather the supplies.

    3. Using a 1" foam brush, paint both the front and back of each heart in True Red, Peony Pink, or Bubblegum Pink.

    5. Apply two coats, allowing to dry between each coats.

    7. Paint the edge of each heart with Champagne Gold. Apply two coats, allowing to dry between coats.

    9. Dip the handle end of a small paintbrush in Snow White.

    11. Use the handle end of the paintbrush to apply polka dots around the border of each heart's front.

    13. Let dry before proceeding.

    15. Apply alphabet stickers to the front of each heart, spelling out desired words or phrases. (Optional) Instead of stickers, use small alphabet stencils and a foam pouncer to add words or phrases to each heart.
