Happy Fall! Michelle here from Michelle’s Party Plan-It with a fun metallic fall decor DIY!
I’m so excited for fall, it is by far my favorite season. Living in Southern California, we don’t get much of the traditional fall weather, but I welcome the cooler temperatures. I’m excited to start bringing out my fall decor to welcome the season. I created a quick little plaque for my mantel using the new Metallic Lustre products and I’m excited to share how easy it was to create!
Let’s get started!Items Needed:
- Sizzix Big Shot
- Layered Bigz Die With Texture Fades
- Alphabet Thinlits Die Set
- Scrapbook Paper
- Paint Brush
- Soft Cloth
- Scissors
- Unfinished Wood Pallet
Instructions:
Gather your supplies.
With the dry soft cloth, cover the plaque with the Iced Espresso Metallic Lustre and let dry. Next apply random touches of the Copper Kettle. To give it a distressed look, rub a slightly damp cloth and blend.
While the sign dries, die cut “HAPPY FALL” using the Sizzix Big Shot, Alphabet Thinlits and scrapbook paper.
Next, die cut and emboss several leaves using the Layered Leaf Bigz Die and Textured Fades Embossing Folder.
Once the Metallic Lustre has dried, arrange the letters on the plaque. Secure and seal the letters on the plaque using a brush and Decou-Page.
Be sure to cover the whole plaque with a layer of Decou-Page and let dry. Fold the leaves giving them dimension and add them to the sign with a dab of Decou-page.
And that’s it! A simple and fun Metallic Happy Fall sign, perfect for your mantel or tabletop!
I hope you try out the Metallic Lustre products, they are so versatile and easy to use.
Happy Painting!
