Haunted House Luminary with Flying Bats

Light up the ghosts and goblins in your house with a Halloween luminary created with Multi-Surface Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • rubbing alcohol
    • #2 round brush
    • clean glass jar
    • #10/0 liner brush

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Wipe jar clean with a paper towel dampened with rubbing alcohol. Insert template into jar and position as desired.
    2. Using a liner brush, paint the house outline with Americana Multi-Surface Acrylics in Black Tie.

    4. Paint the windows and door outline in Black Tie. Begin filling in the buildings with a #2 round brush. Paint the roof by making tiny strokes coming from the roof.

    6. Paint the remainder of the house in with Black Tie.

    8. Mix a 4:1 ratio of Steel Grey and Black Tie to make a dark grey. Fill in the door with #2 round brush. Once dried, paint in door knobs and hinges with a liner brush.

    10. Using a liner brush, paint tree in Coffee Bean to the right of the house.

    12. On the backside of the luminary, paint tree in Coffee Bean.

    14. On the left side of the house, paint in tree with Coffee Bean.

    16. Using a liner brush, paint in small cat heads in two of the front windows in Black Tie. Paint in bats above the house as well.

    18. For added durability, bake jar according to paint packaging instructions.
