Give your pooch a new look with a colorful bandana made with Americana® Acrylics.

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • cardboard
    • #3/0 liner brush
    • #0 liner brush
    • #12 flat brush
    • pink bandana
    • heart stencil

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Wash and dry the bandana. (Do not use fabric softener.) Iron the bandana to remove any wrinkles.
    2. Line the work surface with a piece of cardboard and place the front half of the bandana over the cardboard. (The back half should be tucked behind the cardboard to eliminate the possibility of paint seeping through to the back side.)
    3. Mix Americana Fabric Painting Medium with Razzle Berry according to the label directions. Use a heart-shaped stencil and a #12 flat brush to add hearts to random areas of the bandana.
    4. To turn some Razzle Berry hearts into heart paws, dip the handle end of the brush into Razzle Berry. Using the handle end like a pen, draw in a circular motion to add four "toes" above the heart.
    5. Repeat step 3 with the other paint colors to add hearts in various places on the bandana.
    6. Use the handle end of a #3/0 liner brush to add polka dots along the edge of the bandana. Begin with one color and place dots about 1" apart. When finished, move onto the second color, adding a dot after each of the first dots. Repeat for the third color. (Throughout this process, occasionally lift the bandana so that paint doesn't stick to the cardboard underneath. If it sticks, don't worry; it can be cleaned off later.)
    7. Allow to dry and cure for 48 hours. Heat set according to directions on the Fabric Medium bottle. Wash if desired or to remove stuck-on cardboard.
