INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
In order to keep the letters even, line up the small register marks on the stencils with the pencil line.
Let dry completely between painting and stenciling steps.
- Position and adhere painter's tape across the center of the plaque horizontally.
- Use a 3/4" flat brush to paint the top section Snow White.
- Remove the tape.
- When the Snow White section is dry, position painter's tape at the section edge. Use a 3/4" flat brush and Bahama Blue to paint the lower half. Remove the tape.
- Use a ruler to measure 1" on the Snow White side and 1" on the Bahama Blue side. Use a ruler with chalk pencil to lightly draw a line on the Bahama Blue side and a graphite pencil on the Snow White side to use as a base to position the stencil letters.
- Position the stencil letters to spell HELLO. (We used Newsprint.) Use a cosmetic sponge wedge and Lamp Black to paint the letters.
- Flip the sign so that the Snow White section is located at the bottom and the Bahama Blue section is at the top. Stencil the word GOODBYE using a cosmetic sponge wedge and Lamp Black. (We used Whimsical Delight for the lettering.)
- Use a pencil to draw a small rectangle on the letter "O" in Hello.
- Use a #2 flat brush and Bahama Blue to paint the rectangle mask and strings.
- Seal with varnish or sealer of your choice. Attach wire or hangers on the back side so the sign can be flipped to be read either way.
