Make a colorful, personalized house warming gift using Americana ® Acrylics Bold color pack.

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

Paint color placements will change depending on the shapes your home creates. Have fun picking which colors to place where!

1. Start with a wooden painting panel. Working in a well ventilated room, follow the direction of the wood grain and sand the entire surface a fine grit sandpaper. Remove sanding dust with a slightly damp paper towel or lint free cloth.

2. Using Oak Americana Gel Stain, paint the surface with a flat brush and wipe with a paper towel as you go. Allow to dry.

3. When the stain is dry, coat the entire surface with DecoArt Media Ultra-Matte Varnish. Allow to dry completely.

4. Print the picture of the house you will be painting. Cut out the perimeter of the house. (TIP: Make sure the size of the print fits into your wooden panel properly.)

5. Gather the Americana Acrylic colors from the Bold Color Pack to be used in this project along with some brushes from the Designers Brush Sets: a base coat flat brush, small flat brush, and liner brush. Disassemble the Stencil-on-a-Ring to spell out "est." and the year you are adding. Place the house cut out and the stencils where you would like them. With a white color pencil trace the letters/numbers stencils.

6. Using a ruler, trace around the outside of the house picture.

7. From the house template, continue to cut out shapes found in the picture of the home. For example: the garage doors, windows, front door, etc. Start from the bottom and work your way up.

8. Using a liner brush, paint the words/numbers with Slate Grey Americana Acrylic. Allow to dry.

9. Using a small flat brush, paint Desert Turquoise onto some preferred shapes. I chose the roof and driveway shapes. Paint other shapes with Kelly Green Americana Acrylic.

10. Paint roof shape with True Blue and the window shapes with Bright Yellow Americana Acrylics.

11. Using a small flat brush or a liner, paint Carousel Pink and Razzle Berry Americana Acrylics onto your preferred shapes.

12. Paint more shapes with True Red and Jack-O-Lantern Orange Americana Acrylics. (TIP: if the color isn't as opaque or vibrant as you would like, mix color with just a touch of white paint to brighten.) Fill in any remaining shapes with colors that balance the design. Allow to dry. (TIP: add a picture hanger to the back to hang.)
