Give hugs and kisses this Valentine's Day with wall decor created using Americana Decor Chalky Finishes.


    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • sandpaper
    • E6000 glue
    • painter's tape
    • 1" chip brush
    • 1/4" flat brush
    • stencil brush
    • flower
    • wooden heart shape
    • wood boards
    • wood letter



    Let dry completely between painting, stenciling and gluing steps.

    1. With a chip brush, paint two coats of Americana Decor Chalky Finish in Romance onto the wooden square.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Mix Delicate and Romance to make a bright pink color. Dry brush the mixture over the Romance shade, purposefully allowing the Romance color to show through.

    5. Using a stencil brush or cosmetic sponge, lightly dry brush a border all around the square using Romance, with emphasis on each corner.

    7. Using a chip brush, paint each heart with two coats of Rouge.

    9. Place the Distressed Harlequin Stencil on top of a heart. Using a stencil brush, dab on Dazzling Metallics in Mink Pearl. (If desired use painter's tape to hold stencil in place.) Repeat on other heart.

    11. Paint the edges of the square and both hearts with 2 coats of Mink Pearl.

    13. Position the hearts, as pictured below, and attach each one to the wood square using E6000 Glue.

    15. Paint wooden letters with 2 coats of Dazzling Metallics Festive Red using a 1/4" flat brush.

    17. Using a small brush, apply Craft Twinkles in Christmas Red onto the front of each letter. Load a large amount of Craft Twinkles onto the brush, apply onto surface, and move around with brush until glitter is evenly dispersed.

    19. Using a small brush, apply Craft Twinkles in Sparkling Pink onto each letter, on top of the Christmas Red.

    21. Referencing the final image, position and adhere elements onto wood surface.
