Hummingbird Frame

Hummingbird Frame

Posted by DecoArt on Jan 10th 2017

I had wanted to find a frame that worked with the Hummingbird drawing I had produced for a while. It required something that was complimentary reflecting the fabulous iridescent colours and textures. So when I found a white frame here's how I decorated it!

Items Needed:

First masking off the aperture then randomly applied DecoArt Modeling Paste and Crackle Paste with a palette knife and allowed to dry overnight.

Once Dry I started to arrange the chipboard shapes and once happy I applied them with Liquid Glass.

Once adhered I then applied a thin layer of Crackle Paste and allowed to dry for a couple of hours.

Followed with Prussian Blue wiping back on the embellishments with a baby wipe.

Lightly apply Green Gold followed by Metallic Gold highlights.

Apply a wash of Dioxazine Purple working into all areas but wiping back on the embellishments.

Dabbing to allow some of the frame colours to show through.

This allows the beautiful blends of colour and allows the subtle array of metallic colours to show through.
