Layered Thank You Card

Layer cardstock with Americana Decou-Page and embellishments for the perfect response in this gift-giving season.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • scissors
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • The Spellbinders® Grand Calibur® Machine
    • scrapbook paper
    • jute or hemp cord
    • cardstock
    • 3/4" stencil brush
    • paper doilies
    • decorative edge scissors
    • embossing folders

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Fold a regular 8-1/2" X 11" piece of cardstock in half.
      2. Instruction #1
    2. Do the same thing with a second color cardstock. Use scissors to cut this one in half.
    3. Place the cut cardstock in between a Spellbinders embossing folder of your choice. (I used the 5"x 7" Paisley M-Bossabilities folder.)

    4. Place the folder in between the two embossing plates and crank it through the Spellbinders machine.

    5. Use a 3/4" flat brush and Americana Paper Decou-Page to coat the entire front of the half folded cardstock.

    6. Place down the embossed half sheet of cardstock and center it on the folded card stock. (Make sure all the edges are decoupaged down completely.)

    7. Use scissors to cut a strip of scrapbook paper of your choice to match the card.

    8. Use a 3/4" flat brush to brush a medium-to-light coat of Paper Decou-Page on the card; place the scrapbook paper down; and apply more Decou-Page on top to seal.

    9. Use the same brush to apply more Decou-Page for the next layer (the paper doily). Apply Paper Decou-Page to the card; place the doily; and brush more Decou-Page on top of the doily to seal. Rinse brush.

    10. Print off words of choice and cut out using decorative edge scissors. (Regular scissors work also.)

    11. Use a 3/4" flat brush to adhere the words of choice using the Paper Decou-Page. Apply a final layer of Paper Decou-Page over the entire top of the card to seal. Rinse brush. Let dry completely.

    12. Use a stencil brush to apply Brilliant Turquoise lightly over all the embossed areas. Rinse brush.

    13. Wrap jute or hemp cord around the card and tie in a bow. Use scissors to cut off the excess.
