Lovely Lovebird House

Color a birdhouse in Americana® Acrylics for an eye-catching Valentine accent.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- 3/4" flat brush
- wooden birdhouse
- #4 round brush
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Using a 3/4” flat brush, basecoat the entire birdhouse with two coats of Blue Harbor.
- Trace and transfer the designs: to the front: birds, tree, and heart; to the roof, hearts.
- Mix equal parts of Blue Harbor and Snow White. Using a #4 round brush, paint the tree with the mix. (Save mix for later steps.)
- Using a #4 round brush, paint the birds Bleached Sand.
- Using a #4 round brush, paint the leaves with Snow White, Bleached Sand, True Red, and the Blue Harbor/Snow White mix.
- Using a #4 round brush, paint birds’ eyes and one wing, Blue Harbor; the other wing, True Red; beaks and legs, Blue Harbor/Snow White mix; heart, Snow White; and perch, True Red.
- Using a #4 round brush, paint the hearts on the roof Bleached Sand. Add accent dots along roof edges by alternating True Red and Snow White.
