Upcycle terra cotta saucers into this colorful, playful ladybug.

SUPPLIES

• hot glue gun
• 3/4" flat brush
• 1/2" flat brush
• #0 liner brush
• 1/2" pouncer
• chenille stem
• terra cotta saucers
• E6000 Glue
• wooden balls
• wooden oval
• wooden shape

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

1. Using E6000 Glue, glue the rim of a 3" terra cotta saucer over the bottom of a 4" saucer to form the body. Allow the E600 to dry thoroughly before painting.
2. Use a 3/4" flat brush to basecoat the ladybug body, Holly Berry Red; allow to dry after each coat.
3. Use a 1/2" pouncer and Wrought Iron Black to paint dots on the pots by pressing the pouncer into the paint on the palette or plastic plate. Allow to dry. Use a 1/2" flat brush to paint all the wooden pieces Wrought Iron Black, allowing to dry after each coat.
4. Refer to the photo for placement of the wooden pieces and use a low-temp glue gun to glue the head onto the body. Glue the indentations of the finial caps under the bottom rim of the pot for the ladybug's legs. Glue one end of the oval at back underneath the rim for her tail.
5. Use the handle end of a paintbrush dipped in Daisy Cream to paint eyes; use a liner brush to paint the smile. Allow to dry.
6. Cut a 6" length of black chenille stem and fold in half. With a lo-temp glue gun, glue the fold into the hole at the top of the head for the antennae. Use fingers to form the spiral ends on the antennae.
