Metallic Sugar Skull Lantern

Metallics, compliments of Extreme Sheen™, really transform this lantern into a showstopping centerpiece!

SUPPLIES

    • sandpaper
    • painter's tape
    • clean cloth
    • metal and glass lantern
    • paintbrushes
    • wooden sugar skull

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Make sure that the sugar skull fits inside the lantern.

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Paint the wooden sugar skull edge in Copper, as well as the center of the flowers and the eyes of the skull. Paint the large flowers in the eyes, the two flowers at the crown, and the background panel behind the nose in Mulberry. Paint the topmost layer on the chin, the nose area, and the flower above the eyes in Wild Orchid. Paint the crown and chin in Spa Blue. Paint the teeth in Silver. Fill in the details with Lamp Black.     3. Use painter's tape to tape off the sections of the lantern that you want to remain black. Use a soft brush to apply Copper. Let dry; sand between coats with a fine grit sandpaper and wipe clean. (Use several coats for solid coverage.)
