Leave an imprint on Mother's heart with a sweet Mother's Day gift created with Americana Decor® Chalky Finish.

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Trace a child's hand on paper and cut out.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Make a PVC rolling pin by putting two round shapes on each end of the 2" pipe. (These are 1/2" thick.)

    5. Roll out the paper clay with the PVC. (The round shapes at the end will make the clay about 1/2" thick.)

    7. Place the hand cut-out on the clay and trace. Cut out using a craft knife.

    9. Wrap the handprint around a small Styrofoam ball to form a bowl shape. Set the bowl on a cup or jar for balance and let it dry overnight.

    11. Sand any blemishes with fine-grit sandpaper.

    13. Paint the entire hand in Everlasting. With a small round brush, paint a heart in the center of the hand in Smitten. Apply a sealer of choice to the entire hand.

    15. Paint the lid of a Mason jar using Everlasting.

    17. Paint the Mason jar in a mix of Chalky Finish for Glass in Heritage, Romance, and Everlasting. (The mix should be in a color close to Smitten.) Paint the lid in Everlasting. Let dry. Once dry, sand off raised portions of the Mason jar. Bake according to label instructions. Wrap with twine and fill with flowers.

    19. Cut out the provided stencil on vinyl and apply onto the wooden plaque. Paint the plaque in Lace.

    21. Apply the arrow and bird stencils. Paint in Treasure and Inheritance with a stencil brush.

    23. Lightly sand the surface to distress.
