My Dad, My Hero Memory Album

What better gift for a Dad on Father's Day than this memory album painted with DecoArt® Stylin™.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • stylus or pencil
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • soft cloth
    • #0 liner brush
    • #6 shader brush
    • #12 shader brush
    • photo album
    • 1/2" wisp brush

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Wipe the photo album clean with a soft cloth.
    2. Transfer the pattern.
    3. Basecoat the hat and the tie in Brick. Float the shadows on the hat and all the way around the tie in Brick plus a touch of Black.
    4. Basecoat the yellow stripes on the tie in a mix of equal parts Yellow and Beige using the #6 shader brush. Save mix for STEP 7. Float the shadows at each end with Orange.
    5. Basecoat the hatband and do the stripes on the tie in Turquoise using the appropriate-sized brush. Float the shadows at the end of each stripe and on the hatband with Blue.
    6. Do the dots on the hatband with Orange plus a touch of Beige. Float the shadows with Brick.

    7. Do the light stripes on the tie and circles on the hatband all in the saved mix from STEP 4 plus a touch of White. Float the shadows at the ends with Chestnut.
    8. Basecoat the stem of the pipe and the mustache in Black.
    9. Basecoat the bowl on the pipe in a mix of equal parts Chestnut and Beige using the #6 shader brush. Float the shadows with Chestnut plus a touch of Black.
    10. Basecoat all of the letters with Beige plus a touch of Chestnut and Yellow using the #0 liner brush. Save mix for STEP 11. Float the shadows across the bottom with Chestnut using the #6 shader brush.
    11. Highlight the tops of the letters with the saved mix from STEP 10 plus White.
    12. Highlight all black areas, top of mustache and pipe stem, with White plus a touch of Turquoise.
    13. Using the ½” wisp brush, highlight the hat with a diagonal motion in Orange plus a touch of Beige. Highlight down through the center of the tie with this mix.
    14. Highlight the light yellow stripes and circles with White.
    15. Highlight the pipe with Beige and then the tie stripes with Beige plus a touch of White.
