On-the-Move Painted Rocks

These cool and easy rock painting projects will delight kids of all ages.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • pencil
    • flat brush
    • liner brush
    • hot glue gun
    • chenille stems
    • rocks

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Wash all rocks and let dry completely.

    1. ROCKET: Use a pencil to draw a horizontal stripe, star, and windshield.
    2. Use a flat brush to paint the bottom section Lipstick; the stripe is Cotton Ball. Let dry.

    4. The top section is True Blue; the windshield, Black Tie; and the star is Canary. Let dry.

    6. Use a liner brush to outline the windshield with Cotton Ball and the star with Black Tie.

    8. Optional: Curl the chenille stems and glue onto the back of the rock.

    10. CAR: Use a flat brush to paint the windows with Cotton Ball; the car body is painted with True Blue and the pebble tires with Black Tie.

    12. Use a liner brush to paint the lines for the door with Cotton Ball and True Blue. The flower petals are painted with Lipstick and Canary. The hubcaps on the wheels are painted with Cotton Ball.

    14. Use a brush handle end to dot yellow flower centers with Lipstick; the red flower centers are Canary. Paint the open areas with Cotton Ball.

    16. Glue the wheels to the body.
    17. COOL: Paint the rock with Turf Green. Let dry.
