Make paint-poured spoons to adorn a Christmas tree with Americana® Gloss Enamels™.

    • water container
    • rubber gloves
    • craft sticks
    • freezer paper
    • wet wipes
    • aluminum foil
    • plastic cups
    • aluminum foil pan
    • thin ribbon or string
    • metal spoons
    • silicone oil spray

    1. Choose any colors that look beautiful together. (To make a set of six ornaments, I chose purple colors with teal accents for three designs and teals with blue accents for the other three designs.)
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Bend the spoon handles using very slow, careful pressure. (Bending them over a table edge is helpful. This creates a perfect way to loop a string or ribbon through to change the finished ornaments.)
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Cover the work surface with freezer paper. Prepare each color by adding a small amount into a plastic cup.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Add (1) part paint and (1) part Pouring Medium to a small plastic cup and stir with a craft stick. (I also add a few drops of water to thin the paint/medium mix for smooth pouring.)
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Using a clean, large cup, start pouring the prepared paints in small amounts.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. Add all prepared paints into the large plastic cup.
    12. Instruction #6
    13. Line the bent spoons up to make an easy transition from one spoon to the other when pouring paint.
    14. Instruction #7
    15. Pour the large cup of paints over the spoons slowly, making sure to cover the entire domed surface. Keep the paint from running over the handle by taping it or wiping it before it dries.
    16. Instruction #8
    17. Turn and tilt the spoons to achieve the desired paint pattern. Use small pieces of aluminum foil to keep the spoons in position.
    18. Instruction #9
    19. Optional: Use silicone oil spray to create cells on spoon domes.
    20. Instruction #10
    21. Repeat this entire process with the second set of design colors.
    22. Instruction #11
    23. Let the painted spoons dry for at least 24 hours before handling. (The longer the paint cures, the stronger it will bond to the spoon surface. Scrape off any unwanted bits and drips within the first couple of days.)
    24. Instruction #12
    25. Add a coordinating ribbon or string to loop through the spoon handle.
    26. Instruction #13
