Painted Dinosaur with Toothbrush Stool

Create an inspirational addition to a child's bathroom with Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- ruler
- 3/4" flat brush
- fine-grit sandpaper
- #8 round brush
- #4 flat brush
- black fine point marker
- 1/4" angle brush
- mop brush
- stylus
- unfinished foot stool with the top measuring approximately 10" x 14"
INSTRUCTIONS
- Using a 3/4" flat brush, paint the top and sides of the stool with Turquoise Waters.
- On rest of the stool (sides and edges), use a #8 round brush and a variety of colors from the Americana Multi-Surface Acrylics listed. Refer to photo or get creative!
- Use a 3/4” flat brush to paint True Blue stripes on the top and over edges approximately 3” apart.
- Trace and transfer the patterns onto the stool top.
- Using a #8 round brush, paint using the appropriately-sized brush: T-Rex body, Apple Green; T-Rex arm and nostril, Apple Green with a touch of Brown Sugar; eyebrows, Apple Green and Cotton Ball; tongue, Flamingo; inside mouth, Turf Green with a touch of Black Tie; eye, teeth, claw, and toothbrush bristles, Cotton Ball; toothbrush handle and stripes in toothbrush, Chartreuse; eyeball, Black Tie; spikes down back and large spots, Iris; edges of spikes and smaller dots, Eggplant; brush tip dots in
- Use a 3/4” flat brush to float Flamingo to make cheek. (Mop lightly to soften if necessary.) Use the small tip of a brush to add a highlight in Cotton Ball to eyeball at 2:00 position.
- Using a #8 round brush, paint sides and edges by repeating shapes on front. (I used triangles in Cotton Ball and dots in Turf Green and Lavender Fields.)
- Everything is outlined with a fine point black marker.
- (OPTIONAL) Varnish with DuraClear Matte Varnish for added durability.
