Pastel Garden Rocks

Pick up on these easy, fun painting projects made with Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • #4 round brush
    • fine point permanent marker
    • #10/0 liner brush
    • tape
    • small flat brush
    • rocks
    • pencil

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Wash and dry the rock completely before painting.

    To make it easier to paint small rocks and pebbles, use double-stick tape on craft surfaces. Press the rocks/pebbles onto the tape. They will stay in one place, and you will avoid painting your fingers.

    1. PINEAPPLE ROCK: Use the pencil to draw the pineapple shape and the top.
    2. Paint the pineapple with Chick. Let dry.

    4. Paint the top of the pineapple with Inch Worm. Let dry.

    6. Paint the area behind the top of the pineapple with Baby Blue. Let dry.

    8. Use a pencil to draw diamond shapes on the pineapple.

    10. Paint every other diamond with Orange Sherbet.

    12. Use the brush handle end to dot between the diamonds with Pink Cadillac.

    14. Outline the top of the pineapple with a permanent black marker.
    15. FLOWER ROCK: Use a flat brush to paint the rock Baby Blue. Let dry.

    17. Load a round brush with Pink Cadillac, then dip the brush tip into Cotton Ball. Press the brush down on the rock edge and pull it toward the center to form the flower petals. Repeat to create a flower. Let dry.

    19. Load a round brush with Chick: dab on the flower center. Add a little Orange Sherbet to the brush and dab at the bottom of the flower center and along the bottom sides of the center. Let dry.

    21. Use a permanent marker to loosely outline the flower center and to add dots.
    22. GROW ROCK: Paint the rock with Inch Worm. Let dry.

    24. Use a pencil to do lettering of your choice.

    26. Use a small flat brush to paint the letters with Pink Cadillac. Let dry.

    28. Use a liner brush to paint lines on letters with Cotton Ball. Use Orange Sherbet to paint a flower in the center of the "O" Let dry. Use a brush handle end to dot the flower in the center of the "O". Let dry.
