Patriotic Terra Cotta Pots

Host a patriotic picnic on the 4th of July with casual tableware in stars and stripes.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • pencil
    • #12 flat brush
    • #1 liner brush
    • #1 round brush
    • 4" rose pot

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Clean the rose pots well and let dry before beginning.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Use a #12 flat brush and Blue Bird to basecoat the bottom of one pot and the rim of the other. Rinse brush. Use the same brush and Red Barn to basecoat the bottom of the other pot. Rinse brush.

    5. Use a #12 flat brush and Cotton Ball to paint the rim. Rinse brush.

    7. Use a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer the chevron pattern to the rim of Cotton Ball and Blue Bird pot only.
    8. Use a #1 round brush and Red Barn to paint on the chevron stripes. Rinse brush.

    10. Use a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer the stars to the pot where desired.

    12. Use a #1 round brush and Cotton Ball to fill in the stars. Rinse brush.

    14. Use a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer the "Knives, Forks, and Spoons" pattern over the stars.

    16. Use a #1 liner brush and Red Barn to outline each star. Rinse brush.

    18. Use a #1 liner brush and Black Tie to paint on the words "Knives", "Forks", and "Spoons". Rinse brush.

    20. Use a #12 flat brush and Red Barn to paint the inside of the pot to seal. Rinse brush.

    22. Use a #12 flat brush and School Bus to paint the inside of the pot. Rinse brush. Use the handle end of the brush dipped in Cotton Ball to add random-sized polka dots to the Red Barn areas of the pot. Wipe off the handle.

    24. Allow to cure before use by following curing time instructions on the Multi-Surface Acrylics label.
