Personalized Clipboard Frame

Hello there! One of the hottest color combinations right now is coral, mint, and gold.  Today I am sharing how you can create your own personalized clipboard frame using those gorgeous colors with DecoArt Americana paint and stencils.  This fun little project is a nice way to change out your decor.  I like the idea of displaying cards, letters, typographic art, grocery lists, pictures your kids draw and more with a clipboard.

First, I started by painting one side of the wooden frame using Americana Acrylics in Coral Blush using a small foam brush.  This color is absolutely gorgeous and my new favorite color.  I really want to paint everything this color, it is that amazing.  I purchased the wooden frame at my local craft store because I liked the design in that it's not your traditional square frame.  It has some character to it.  Let this layer of paint dry before continuing on to the next step.

After the Coral Blush paint has dried I added two more paint colors to the frame.  I placed the Americana Segmented Swirls Stencil over the frame.  Next, I dabbed Mint Julep Green over the stencil using a small round foam brush.  I held the stencil by my hand while applying the paint.  After the Mint Julep Green paint was dry, I added touches of Metallic Gold in random areas of the stencil.

Once all of the paint has dried you can remove the stencil from the frame.  To make this a clipboard, I hot glued a small wooden clothespin that I painted using the Metallic Gold paint to the frame.  I also placed a piece of gray scrapbook paper to the back of the frame using an adhesive tape runner.  The clipboard frame is done, now it's time to personalize it!

I painted a small kraft paper bow using the Mint Julep Green paint and attached it to the clothespin using an adhesive foam square.  I am loving this gold foil You're Golden card from A Beautiful Mess Happy Mail.  The card really goes great with the gold paint.

And, you can change the art display to match your mood, the options are endless! I think it is such a fun and great way to turn a regular frame into something that is personalized.

What would you display on your clipboard frame?
