Kids can create this charming birdhouse ornament with Americana Acrylic paint.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • #12 flat brush
    • quick-dry craft glue or low-temp glue gun and glue sticks
    • chalet birdhouse ornament
    • snips or old craft scissors
    • moss and pine needles (optional)
    • pinecones

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Paint front and back of birdhouse Festive Green; perch and base, Santa Red.
    2. Twist or cut individual scales from pinecones. Use snips or old craft scissors to cut off base ends evenly.
    3. Beginning at bottom of one roof side, squeeze out line of glue. Position and press pinecone pieces across line evenly. Overlapping first row, repeat application. Continue until you reach roofline. Turn birdhouse and repeat application on remaining side.
    4. Seal with Multi-Purpose Sealer.
    5. Add embellishments like moss or pine needles, if desired.
