Decorate a dorm room in accessories that proclaim your sorority affiliation.

SUPPLIES

• palette or plastic plate
• paper towels
• wooden box
• 1" chip brush
• liner brush
• 3/4" flat brush
• #6 flat brush
• craft glue
• matching ribbon
• wooden paddle
• Tattered Time 12" x 12" scrapbook paper

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

1. Using a 3/4" flat brush, paint the wooden storage box in Zinc.

2. Using a 1" chip brush, dry-brush the box with Melon in both directions (vertically and horizontally).

3. Using a 3/4" flat brush, paint the wooden pledge paddle in Zinc.

4. Using a 1" chip brush, dry-brush the paddle with Melon in both directions (vertically and horizontally).

5. Cut the scrapbook paper into a rectangle to fit the paddle, leaving a border of about 1/4". Trace and cut out the sorority symbols. (Or print out, trace, and cut your own.) Cut out the flowers from the scrapbook paper. Glue the cut-out papers in place on the paddle, starting with the rectangle, followed by the symbols and flowers.
6. Trace the pattern of girl onto scrapbook paper. Using a liner brush and Lamp Black, paint all of the outlines. Using a #6 flat brush and Lamp Black, fill in her hair. Using a #6 flat brush, lightly paint the cheeks in Melon; using a liner brush, paint her lips in Melon.
7. When paint and glue are dry, seal the paddle and box with several coats of DuraClear Satin Varnish using a 3/4" flat brush. Allow to dry between coats.
