Pumpkin Head Portrait

Create a Halloween pumpkin without carving with a wooden block and Americana® Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • pencil
    • liner brush
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • #4 round brush
    • 6" x 6" wooden block

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Using a 3/4” flat brush, paint the front of the wooden block with two coats of Sand.
    2. Using the 3/4” flat brush, paint all four sides with two coats of Lamp Black.
    3. Trace and transfer the pattern to the front of the block with a pencil and tracing and transfer papers.
    4. Using the #4 round brush, paint the pumpkin head Bright Orange and accent with Sand.
    5. Using a liner brush, paint the eyes and mouth Lamp Black and the top stem, Kelly Green. Add accents using Sand.
    6. Using the #4 round brush, paint a Snow White shirt and add stripes in Lamp Black. Add accents using the liner brush with Sand.
    7. Using the #4 round brush, paint the arms Kelly Green.
    8. Using the #4 round brush, paint the front of the frame Lamp Black.
    9. Using the liner brush, paint the frame design and dots on the sides with Purple Cow.
