Shabby Chic Thankgiving

Shabby Chic Thankgiving

Hello my DecoArt friends! It's Robin with All Things Heart and Home and today I'm going to show you my version of a softer - gentler Thanksgiving table...

Like most things I do, this table is easy to put together and most of what you see here are things you already have!

I like to have some sort of inspiration to use as a jumping off point when I decorate or even set a table...with this table I painted a few soft color pumpkins and they inspired the other elements on the table!

For the *pumpkins you need:

*Americana Decor Chalky Finish in Smitten (mixed with a tad of white to make it a softer color)

*Americana Chalky Finish in Serene

*Americana Multi-Surface Metallic Silver

*DecoArt Glamour Dust in Silver Bling

First paint the pumpkins with your Chalky Finish Paint...

Then water down a bit of Americana Multi-Surface Metallic Silver and paint a thin coat over the (dry) pumpkins. The Multi-Surface Metallic is perfect to give a beautiful shimmer over other colors.

When they are dry, add a bit of DecoArt Glamour Dust in Silver Bling to give them a tad of glitter...

And then because I loved the shimmery finish so much, I painted a bunch of fake acorns! These took no time at all and they are so pretty...

For easy place mats I taped together some pages from an old book and added a tea light in mercury glass at each place setting...

Since Thanksgiving is the official kick off of the Christmas holiday, why not send your guests home with a  little Christmas ornament!? These can be made by using floral wire to connect a feather, an acorn and a tiny key and some dried sweetheart roses (I got the roses a few weeks ago from the grocery store! They dry out in no time and are perfect for a shabby chic party favor)  Use Washi Tape to cover the wire...

Even if your menu is the same year after year, it's nice to do a little something different with your table setting...

And speaking of menu...I want to share our families favorite Cranberry Relish with you! This is just amazing with the traditional turkey and dressing and we love to add a spoonful of the leftovers to a turkey sandwich the next day!
