Bring a winter fantasyland to live with the sparkle of Snow-Tex and Glamour Dust.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • stylus or pencil
    • transfer paper
    • scissors
    • painter's tape
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • #8 flat brush
    • toothpicks
    • #0 liner brush
    • black fine point marker
    • fan brush
    • quick-dry craft glue or low-temp glue gun and glue sticks
    • assorted ribbon
    • knife or Styrofoam cutting tool
    • 2.5" Styrofoam ball, cut in half
    • 5" Styrofoam ball
    • 2" Styrofoam ball
    • metallic chenille stems
    • chenille stem
    • 1-1/2" Styrofoam ball
    • assorted beads
    • 6" clay pot
    • 5" clay saucer
    • 2-1/2" rose pot
    • 4" rose pot

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. To make the Snow Cream stand, start by painting the 5" saucer Cloud White. Paint the rim and 1" band with Holly Berry Red, then paint the remainder of the pot Larkspur Blue.
    2. Use pencil to draw eight sections on saucer bottom for peppermint candy. Paint every other section Holly Berry Red. Use #8 flat brush and Holly Berry Red to stripe saucer rim.
    3. Trace and transfer lettering. Use liner brush and Wrought Iron Black to paint.
    4. Trace and transfer snowman and sundae design onto 6" pot. (Or use pencil to draw design of your choice.)
    5. Paint dish Citrus Green. Paint snow cream scoops Daisy Cream, Pinecone Brown, and Carnation Pink. Paint chocolate syrup on strawberry dip and syrup on vanilla dip. Dot Holly Berry Red cherries on top. Dot dish with Tiger Lily Orange.
    6. Paint snowman vendor Cloud White. Paint carrot nose, Tiger Lily Orange; eyes and mouth, Wrought Iron Black; and apron, Mistletoe Green. Highlight eyes with small Cloud White dot.
    7. Use permanent marker or liner brush and Wrought Iron Black to outline details.
    8. Position and adhere saucer on pot. Refer to photo for placement.
    9. Brush Christmas Red Craft Twinkles on Holly Berry Red candy stripes.
    10. To make the Sprinkles foundation, paint 2-1/2" rose pot rim and 5" saucer bottom with Holly Berry Red. Paint top half of pot base Citrus Green, and bottom of base Larkspur Blue. Paint inside saucer and saucer rim Cloud White.
    11. Trace and transfer lettering. Use liner brush and Larkspur Blue to paint lettering or use black permanent pen.
    12. Position and adhere Styrofoam ball half inside pot. Use palette knife to apply Snow-Tex on Styrofoam and rim of pot.
    13. Curl metallic chenille stems and poke into Styrofoam inside pot.
    14. Position and adhere pot inside saucer. Refer to photo for placement.
    15. Use fan brush to apply Crystal Craft Twinkles on pot sides and inside saucer. While wet, sprinkle with beads and Glamour Dust.
    16. Start the Waffle Cone Shop by painting the 4" rose pot Carnation Pink. Let dry.
    17. Trace and transfer window and door patterns or draw on with pencil.
    18. Paint door Holly Berry Red. Paint windows Fiesta Yellow. Paint wooden oval Citrus Green.
    19. Mix small amount of Holly Berry Red into Carnation Pink. Use liner brush and mix to paint waffle lines on cone.
    20. Use permanent marker or liner brush and Wrought Iron Black to outline windows and door. Use brush handle end and black to dot on doorknob.
    21. Use craft knife or Styrofoam cutter to remove one third of Styrofoam ball retaining for another use. (Adult assistance required.)
    22. Apply glue around inside rim of pot and push remaining two-thirds Styrofoam ball onto pot to form ice cream.
    23. Use fan brush to apply Snow-Tex over Styrofoam ball. While wet, sprinkle with assorted beads and Glamour Dust.
    24. To create the snow people and snow cones, paint 2" clay pot bodies, cones, and 2" Styrofoam snow cream with desired colors.
    25. Paint toothpicks Tiger Lily Orange.
    26. Use fan brush to apply Snow-Tex on Styrofoam heads. (See helpful hints below.) While wet, sprinkle with Glamour Dust.
    27. Once dry, cut orange toothpicks in half. Push cut end into snowman head for nose.
    28. Brush Carnation Pink on each side of nose for cheeks.
    29. Use brush handle end and black to dot on eyes and mouth.
    30. To assemble: Putting ends together, bend brown chenille stem in half. Push bent section through hole in clay pot body. Place drop of hot glue inside pot, then push bent section into glue to secure arms. Place more glue on top of arms and press head into glue. Hold securely until glue sets. (If using craft glue, use tape to hold head in place until glue dries.)
    31. Use brush handle end and Wrought Iron Black to dot buttons on body.
    32. When dry, bend chenille stems to form hands and tie on ribbon scarf.
    33. Glue small Styrofoam ball to small clay pot cone. Insert cone into hands and secure with glue.
