    • white pencil
    • old credit card

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Use a scrap piece of cardboard or cardstock to make a heart template. Make several different sizes of choice. Use a white pencil to trace a large heart above the apron's waistline and other varying, smaller sizes randomly below the waistline.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Mix varying combinations of Crimson and White, Crimson and Tangerine, and Cadmium Yellow and Crimson for the different hearts. Be sure to have a scrap piece of cardboard under the working surface to catch any bleeding paint.
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Paint one color mix, then add another color mix right on top of the wet paint to add accents. Blend together as desired. (Refer to final photo.)
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Use a clean pencil eraser or the handle end of a paintbrush dipped in White to add dots to the waistline and other accent areas as desired.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Use an old credit card dipped in Lamp Black to make straight lines on the apron going from the hearts to the waistline.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. Use a fine-tip black permanent marker to doodle on top of the dry paint. (Be sure it is completely dry first.) Outline all hearts, making sure it is on top of the paint so the pen does not bleed onto the fabric.
