    • sandpaper
    • pencil
    • flat brush
    • staple gun
    • small round brush
    • hand saw
    • Silhouette electronic cutting machine
    • drill and small drill bit
    • wood stain
    • drawer handles
    • wood boards

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Begin by cutting the 1" x 12" x 17" board: cut the shorter of the 1" x 2" side boards to the width of the 1" x 12". (It should be around 11-1/4".) Cut the longer sides to 17" plus the width of the end boards. (This should be about 19". )
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Stain the pieces on all sides or paint with the color of your choice. Attach them together using a staple gun and 1" staples. (You can attach the pieces before staining and fill them with stainable wood filler for a cleaner look.)
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Paint the bottom of the tray in pink. (Don't go all the way to the edges to give it a rough look. You can sand after it dries to distress it even more.)
    6. Instruction #3
    7. Cut the file on vinyl on a Silhouette machine. Lay the stencil in the center of the tray. Fill in the stencil with a stencil brush and white. Let dry.
    8. Instruction #4
    9. Once the paint has completely dried, fill in the sunbursts at the top and bottom with yellow and green using a round brush.
    10. Instruction #5
    11. Apply varnish of choice (shown: Ultra-Matte Varnish) to the entire tray. Attach handles of choice for easier transport.
