    NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Cut 12 pieces of the wood board measuring 1" x 4 "x 12".
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Lightly sand off any rough ends.
    4. Cut scrap wood (approximately 1/4" thick) into pieces about 1" x 10". (These pieces will be used to hold the wood board pieces together.)
    5. Stain all wooden pieces in a dark wood stain of choice according to package instructions.
    6. Instruction #4
    7. Once the stain has completely dried, lightly paint the top surface of the wood with Everlasting. Allow some of the stain to show through.
    8. Instruction #5
    9. Cut sports ball stencils on the Silhouette machine onto cardstock.
    10. With the stencil in place, paint the baseball stitches in Romance. Let dry.
    11. Instruction #7
    12. Once dry, outline the baseball in Carbon.
    13. Position the football stencil. Use a foam brush to stencil football in Rustic.
    14. Instruction #9
    15. With just the outer portion of the basketball stencil on the wood, paint Heritage to basketball. Allow to dry completely. Once the Heritage portion is dry, apply the detail stencil and apply Carbon.
    16. Instruction #10
    17. Position the soccer ball stencil and paint in Carbon.
    18. Instruction #11
    19. Distress each plank to a desired look using sandpaper. Wipe clean with a damp paper towel.
    20. Instruction #12
    21. Turn each plaque over so the ball will still align correctly. Glue and staple the scrap wood to hold the planks together. Use two scraps of wood per plaque, spacing each board with a penny. Repeat for each sign.
    22. Instruction #13
    23. Attach a D-ring (or other hook) to the top back (centered).
