Spring Owl Step Stool

Paint This Cute Wise Old Owl in Bright Colors on a Step Stool
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- pencil
- #3 round brush
- wooden stool
- 3/4" flat brush
- #10 flat brush
- computer and printer
- 1-1/4" sponge pouncer
- 2" painter's tape
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Allow to dry between painting steps.
- Use 3/4” flat brush to basecoat top Pineapple with Foliage Green edges; legs, Bubblegum Pink with Foliage Green edges; and middle support piece, Bright Orange. Let completely dry.
- Print off pattern and trace and transfer to top of stool with pencil.
- Use #10 flat brush to paint branch Light Cinnamon.
- Use #3 round brush to mix (1) part Snow White and (1) part Light Cinnamon and to paint swirls in tree branch. Rinse brush.
- Use #10 flat brush to paint owl head, eyes, and flowers, Bubblegum Pink; outer mask around eyes and wings around flowers, Foliage Green; flowers around eyes and chest, Pineapple; beak and feet, Bright Orange; outer eye, Snow White; and leaves, half Foliage Green and half Forest Green.
- Use #3 round brush to color iris, Lamp Black; inside of flowers, Bright Orange; and swirls on chest, Bubblegum Pink.
- Use 1-1/4” pouncer with Bright Orange to add random polka dots all over stool seat.
- Use #10 flat brush to add Limelight to all Forest Green and Foliage Green areas; Lemon Drop to all Pineapple areas; Celebration Pink to all Bubblegum Pink areas; and Ice Crystal to all Bright Orange areas and to tree branch.
- On legs, use painter’s tape to make diagonal stripes from top to bottom. Use 3/4 flat brush to paint in Bright Orange stripes.
- On support piece, add vertical stripes with painter’s tape; paint stripes with 3/4 flat brush in Foliage Green. Remove Tape.
- Use 3/4 flat brush to seal with DuraClear. Allow to dry between coats.
