INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Let dry completely between painting steps.
- Start with a medium to large canvas tote bag in a white or cream color. Place wax or freezer paper inside the bag to protect it from paint coming through to the back side.
- Use a pencil and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer the anchor, rope, and banner pattern to the tote.
- On a palette or plastic plate, premix each listed paint color 1:1 with Fabric Painting Medium. Use a #2 round brush and the Bahama Blue mix to paint the shaded areas. Rinse brush. Use the same brush and the Sweet Mint mix to paint the remainder of the anchor.
- Use a #12 flat brush and the Coral Shell mix to fill in the banner. Rinse brush.
- Use a #2 round brush and the Coral Blush mix to outline the banner and shade the folds. Rinse brush.
- Use a #1 round brush and the Snow White mix to fill in the rope. Rinse brush.
- Use a #1 liner brush and the Venetian Gold mix to outline and add detail to the rope. Rinse brush.
- Use the DecoArt Personally Yours Urban Ink: Sea Dog Stencil to add any word you choose to the anchor. (I chose to make mine say something inspiring like the word "Hope.") Load a cosmetic sponge with the Venetian Gold mix and pounce on lightly. Wash stencil.
- Use a #1 liner brush and the Desert Turquoise mix to outline the anchor and its details. Rinse brush.
