Stenciled "Keys" Hanger

Make your own personal key hanger easily with Chalky Finish and our stencils!


    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • ruler
    • pencil
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • 1" painter's tape
    • #1 liner brush
    • cosmetic sponge
    • tracing & transfer paper
    • pen
    • oval wooden plate
    • cup hooks



    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. You will need a small wooden oval plate, make sure the surface is clean and dust free.

    3. Use 3/4" Flat brush and Vintage to base coat the entire plate. Rinse brush.

    5. Choose the key images you prefer to use from the Vintage Keys stencil. Then use painter's tape to hold in place.

    7. Load a clean cosmetic sponge with Relic and lightly pounce on the first key.

    9. Use a new cosmetic sponge and load with Carbon to do second key. Wash Stencil.

    11. Print the word "keys" pattern or in font of choice. Then use a pen to trace and transfer the pattern centered at the top.

    13. Use #1 Round brush and Everlasting to paint the word "keys". Rinse brush.

    15. You will need 3 cup hooks.

    17. Screw in the 3 cup hooks across the bottom of the plate.

    19. Use a sharpie to make a shadow behind the words "keys".

    21. Use a pencil and ruler to mark 3 even dots on both sides.

    23. Use handle end of #1 Round brush and dip into Everlasting to add dots. Re-dip the paint brush handle each time to get consistent dot size. Wipe off handle.

    25. Once dry it is ready to be hung!
