Stenciled Wooden Angular Motion Coasters

Add a woodsy feeling to your living room end tables with these stenciled wooden coasters.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • sandpaper
    • #12 flat brush
    • #1 round brush
    • wooden coasters

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Use a #12 flat brush and Terra Cotta to basecoat the tops of all four coasters. Rinse brush. Let dry. Use the same brush and Burnt Umber to paint the edges. Rinse brush.

    3. Use a hard bristle flat brush (around the size of a 12" flat brush) to dry-brush on Light Cinnamon. Repeat until you get the desired wooden look. Rinse brush.

    5. Use a #1 round brush and Burnt Umber to loosely add wood grain to all four coasters. Rinse brush. Let dry completely.

    7. Place a different section of the stencil on each different coaster. (Shown: Angular Motion) Load a cosmetic sponge with Snow White and lightly dab. (You do want it to be mostly opaque so it still shows up after we distress them later.) Let all dry completely.

    9. Use a light to medium grit sandpaper to lightly distress all of the coasters.

    11. Use a #12 flat brush and DuraClear Matte Varnish to seal the coasters. They are ready to use once fully cured.
