Summer Clothespin Doll Accents

Accent your table with dolls made of clothespins in the thoroughly modern colors of Americana® Acrylics.
SUPPLIES
- water container
- palette or plastic plate
- paper towels
- tracing paper
- transfer paper
- #10 flat brush
- #8 round brush
- ballpoint pen
- six no-roll clothespins
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Allow to dry between painting steps.
- Using #10 flat brush, paint all six clothespins using Buttermilk.
- Copy pattern for clothespins onto tracing paper. Center the tracing paper on the clothespins. Using a ballpoint pen, go over the pattern onto clothespins with graphite transfer paper underneath.
- Using Desert Turquoise, paint the shorts on dolls #3 and #4. (See small photo for color placement; dolls are numbered left to right.)
- Using a #8 round brush with Bright Yellow, paint the top and bottom of bathing suit on doll #5 and the top of doll #4.
- Using a #8 round brush with Cherry Red, paint the top on doll #3 and the bathing suit of doll #2.
- Using a #8 round brush with Royal Fuchsia, paint the top and bottom of doll #6.
- Using a #8 round brush with Sour Apple, paint the bathing suit of doll #1.
- Using #8 round brush, with Snow White, outline the edge of the bathing suit on doll #5. Place vertical stripes on doll #6. Paint a vertical stripe across the middle of the bathing suit and paint dots on top half of the bathing suit on doll #1. Paint dots on the bathing suit of doll #2.
- Using #8 round brush with Graphite, paint dots for eyes on all dolls. Paint the hair on dolls #3 and #5. Paint the pockets and the button on the shorts of doll #3.
- Using #8 round brush with Bright Yellow, paint the hair on dolls #1 and #6. Paint dots for buttons on the shorts on doll #4.
- Using #8 round brush with Dark Chocolate, paint the hair on dolls #2 and #4.
