Summer Flowers Frame

Painted burlap flowers add color, texture, and interest to this summer photo frame.

SUPPLIES

    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • tracing paper
    • transfer paper
    • scissors
    • pencil
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • hot glue gun and glue sticks
    • button
    • #1 round brush
    • popsicle sticks
    • wooden frame
    • die-cut burlap flowers

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. Make sure the frame is clean and dust free.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Use a 3/4" flat brush and Saffron Yellow to basecoat the entire frame. Rinse brush.

    5. Select flowers to be used and get three popsicle sticks.

    7. Use a 3/4" flat brush and Zinc to paint the popsicle sticks. Rinse brush.

    9. Use a 3/4" flat brush and load separately with Royal Fuchsia, Razzle Berry, Citron Green, Bahama Blue, and Bubblegum Pink to paint the flowers. Rinse the brush between colors and at the end.

    11. Use a glue gun to attach the popsicle sticks to the frame. Use a pencil or pen and the tracing and transfer papers to trace and transfer "Summer" to the front of the frame.

    13. Use a #1 round brush and load separately with Bahama Blue and Citron Green to paint every other letter in the word "Summer". Rinse brush between colors and at the end.

    15. Remove the adhesive backing from the flowers and arrange however you like on the frame by overlapping.

    17. If you do not have a button to match the frame, you can paint one. ( I used Bubblegum Pink.) Rinse brush.

    19. Use a glue gun to attach the painted button to the center of the flower.

    21. Use the handle end of a 3/4" flat brush dipped in Citron Green to add random polka dots onto the frame. Wipe off the handle.

    23. Use a #1 round brush and Bubblegum Pink to add details to flowers. Rinse brush. Use a #1 round brush and Citron Green to add dots to flower. Rinse brush. Use the same brush and Razzle Berry to shade the word "Summer." Rinse brush. Use the same brush and load Zinc to add details to the Royal Fuchsia flower. Rinse brush.
