Super Sweet Treat Rocks

Treat some rocks to sweet snacks painted with Americana® Multi-Surface Acrylics.

SUPPLIES

    • pencil
    • black fine point marker
    • small and medium brushes
    • round brush
    • rocks

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Donut: Sketch a donut onto the rock in pencil. Using Chick for the donut and Pink Cadillac for the frosting, paint the colors in with a small paintbrush, using the round brush when necessary.

    3. Donut: When you reach the desired coverage (it may take more than one coat), and the paint has dried, outline the donut and add shading and sprinkles, using the fine point permanent marker.

    5. Ice cream cone: Sketch the ice cream design onto the rock. Use Cotton Ball to paint the cone and Orange Sherbet to paint the scoop of ice cream, using a small paintbrush.

    7. Ice cream cone: When you reach the desired coverage (it may take more than one coat) and the paint has dried, use the fine point marker to outline the ice cream and the cone. (Be sure to add hatching to the cone as well.) Use a small brush to paint the cherry in Pink Cadillac and Inch Worm. Use the fine point marker to outline.

    9. Macaroon: Sketch the design onto the rock. Use Inch Worm to paint the cookie and Orange Sherbet to paint the filling with the small paintbrush.

    11. Macaroon: When you reach the desired coverage, and the paint has dried, outline the macaroon and add shading as well as texture using the fine point permanent marker.

    13. Cup of coffee: Sketch the design onto the rock. Using Baby Blue, paint the cup and saucer with the small paintbrush, using the round brush when needed.

    15. Cup of coffee: Once you have reached the desired coverage and the paint has dried, outline the cup and saucer and add shading and the steam lines, all with the permanent marker.

    17. Cupcake: Sketch the cupcake onto the rock. Use a small paintbrush to paint in the cupcake liner, the cupcake, and the icing. For the liner, use Inch Worm; for the icing, use Pink Cadillac; and for the cupcake itself, use Orange Sherbet.

    19. Once you have reached the desired coverage, and the paint has dried, outline and shade the cupcake with a fine point permanent marker. Also add stripes to the liner and sprinkles to the frosting as well as shading throughout.
