Sweet Easter Bunny and Chick Mugs

Glass jar mugs and Easter creatures with crowns add whimsey to this Easter accent.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • paper towels
    • rubbing alcohol
    • #8 round brush
    • #10 round brush
    • #6 round brush
    • 1/2" masking tape
    • glass jar mugs

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Wash the jar mugs with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry. Or wipe the mugs clean with rubbing alcohol before painting.

    1. Trim each pattern and place inside a jar. Secure with a small piece of 1/2" masking tape.
    2. Mix colors: Soft yellow: (1) part Bright Yellow with (1) part White. Soft pink: (1) part Razzle Berry with (4) parts White. Soft blue: (1) part Calypso Blue with (4) parts White. Using a #8 round brush, outline the chick, bunny, and their crowns. (Use a #10 round brush to fill in the larger areas.) (Refer to photo for color placement.) Keep the three mixes for the next step.

    4. Mix one more color: Soft green: (1) part Festive Green with (4) parts White. Using a #10 round brush, randomly dab the four mixed colors throughout the mug, including the handle but excluding the top rim. Use soft green and soft pink on the chick mug and soft blue and soft yellow on the bunny mug.

    6. Using a #8 round brush, paint the chick's eyes and the top of the chick's crown in Calypso Blue. Rinse brush. Paint the bunny's nose in Razzle Berry. Rinse brush. Paint the chick's beak and the top of bunny's crown in Bright Orange. Mix (1) part Black with (1) part White. Using a #6 round brush and this mix, loosely outline the chick and bunny.

    8. Allow to dry and bake according to the Americana Gloss Enamel product label for a dishwasher safe finish.
