SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • scissors
    • pencil
    • wax paper
    • #10 flat brush
    • craft glue
    • 1" sponge brush
    • empty paper towel roll
    • wooden rolling pin
    • wire
    • Washi masking tape
    • papier mâché kit
    • terra cotta pots and saucers
    • artificial leaves

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Mix papier mâché according to the package directions. Roll out on waxed paper and allow to dry, just until pliable and easy to bend and mold (about 3 hours). Use scissors to cut out various uneven leaves; pinch them in the center to form wrinkles. Let dry completely. Paint leaves Fern Green.
    2. Cut the paper towel roll into desired lengths and apply the papier mâché, leaving rough texture. When completely dry, use a #10 flat brush to paint the "stems" Pinecone Brown.
    3. Use a 1" sponge brush to basecoat the inside and outside of the largest pot and saucer, Tiger Lily Orange. Use a #10 flat brush to side-load shade approximately 1-1/2" to 2" shaded sections with Holly Berry Red.
    4. With a 1:1 mix of Fiesta Yellow and Tiger Lily Orange, use a 1" sponge brush to basecoat the next largest pot and saucer. Use #a 10 flat brush to shade with Tiger Lily Orange.
    5. With a 1:1 mix of Tiger Lily Orange and Geranium Red, basecoat the smallest pot and saucer using a 1" sponge brush. Use a #10 flat brush to shade with Geranium Red.
    6. Curl the covered wire around a pencil, then slide off. Gently pull to expand the curls.
    7. Use craft glue to attach the stems, leaves, and curled wire on the painted saucers.
