Textured Wooden Stool with Diamond Pattern

Step up a plain wooden stool with pattern and DecoArt® Suede™ paint.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • palette or plastic plate
    • paper towels
    • sandpaper
    • ruler
    • wooden stool
    • 3/4" flat brush
    • X-Acto® knife
    • 1/4" masking or quilter's tape
    • fan brush
    • graphite pencil
    • soft white eraser
    • diamond template

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

    Sand any rough edges of the stool and remove dust before painting.

    1. Use a 3/4" flat brush and Snow White to paint the stool.

    3. Use a ruler and pencil to measure the stool top, dividing and marking off three sections. Measure and mark off two rows of diamond shapes. Optional: make a template from cardboard and trace the shapes.

    5. Position and adhere tape on the diamond shape edges. Erase any pencil excess lines with a clean eraser.

    7. Use a fan brush to apply Midnight Blue on the stool top. Let dry and apply a second coat, if needed.

    9. To achieve clean lines, run an X-Acto knife down the tape edges. Remove the tape.

    11. Seal with Suede Varnish, if desired.
