    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Allow to dry between painting steps.

    1. Use a #12 flat brush to basecoat the journal cover with Sea Glass. Let dry completely. Rinse brush.
    2. Tear random pieces from the scrapbook and orange tissue papers.
    3. Use a #12 flat brush and Americana Matte Decou-Page to attach the scrapbook paper to the journal. Do not rinse brush.
    4. While the Decou-Page is still wet, add more Decou-Page with the same brush to attach the tissue paper over the areas of scrapbook paper. Rinse brush. Let dry completely.
    5. Use the same brush to mix (1) part Staining/Antiquing Medium with (1) part Espresso. Brush this mix all over the journal cover and wipe back with a paper towel. (You can also scrunch up paper towel and dab the mix on in areas.) Let dry completely.
    6. Use the travel quote stamp with ink on the top right corner of the journal, or anywhere you choose.
    7. Use the Timeless Treasures Stencil to hang off the journal's edge. Apply it with a cosmetic sponge using Espresso, adding as few or as many coats as you like.
    8. Use a clean cosmetic sponge to stencil a number from the Timeless Treasures Stencil in Sea Glass.
    9. Use a pencil to trace another number from the Timeless Treasures Stencil onto cardstock. Cut out with scissors and glue on.
    10. Use a #6 flat brush to basecoat the wooden circle Splendid Gold. Rinse brush.
    11. Use a #6 flat brush to paint half of each wooden petal Heritage Brick. Use same brush and Heritage Brick to paint center of Splendid Gold circle.
    12. Use the handle end of #6 flat brush dipped in Dark Chocolate to make dots around outer edge of Splendid Gold circle. Use marker to fill in the other half of each wooden petal and to add two rings in center of circle.
    13. Use a glue gun to glue the wooden petals to the Splendid Gold circle and then attach the whole compass to the bottom corner of the journal cover.
    14. Use a marker to draw the compass points (N, S, E, W) around Splendid Gold along with measurement dots and lines.
    15. Tie the metal clock piece to the middle of the jute. Flip the inside cover open and glue one end of the jute to the inside cover. Repeat at the other end of the jute.
