Upcycled Metallic Typewriter Desk

Update a typewriter desk with a metallic shine made with Americana Decor® Metallics™.
SUPPLIES
- sandpaper
- large flat brush
- clean cloth
- clamp
- mask
- stationary desk
INSTRUCTIONS
NOTES:
Sand lightly after each layer of paint for a smooth, consistent look. For best adherence of Metallics paint, sand lightly over the entire project and wipe off dust before beginning.
- Fill any holes in the desk with Americana Wood Filler.
- If there are any splits in the wood, apply Americana Wood Glue and clamp. Let it dry for 30 minutes and wipe off any excess glue.
- Sand lightly over where you will be applying paint.
- Paint the top and sides of desk with Champagne Gold and the drawer fronts Silver. After the first coat of paint, sand lightly with fine sandpaper. (Remember to wear a mask and to dust after sanding). Apply between two to three coats to achieve a solid metallic finish.
- Paint along the desk edges with Rich Espresso.
