Add a coat of DecoArt Vintage Effect Wash™ to a wooden side table for a stately accent piece.

SUPPLIES

• sandpaper
• wood filler
• clean cloth
• 2" wide painter's brush
• hardware
• nightstand

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Optional: Paint the table with a mix of Steel Blue and Dove Beige. Once it is dry, flip the table upside down on a protected surface.

2. Give the table surface an even, thin coat of White. (Be sure to get the paint in all of the little crevices; this gives it more character.)

3. Wipe back with a clean cloth. (The amount of time you allow the wash to set on the surface will determine how prominent the color will be. For the piece shown, White was left on for about 30 seconds to give it a light coating. If you want it to be brighter white, hold off for a minute or two before wiping it off.)

4. See photo: the wash settling into the table's crevices make the details really pop.

5. If you want to dress up the piece further, update the hardware, stack on a few favorite books, or add some fresh flowers to really brighten it up!
