Here's a home décor piece that will not be pigeon-holed because of Americana Decor® Chalky Finish.

SUPPLIES

    • water container
    • paper towels
    • sandpaper
    • 2" flat brush
    • 1" flat brush
    • screwdriver
    • wooden shelf
    • nameplates
    • hand-sander

    INSTRUCTIONS

    NOTES:

Let dry completely between painting steps.

    1. If needed, sand any rough surfaces of the shelf. Wipe down the entire surface to remove dirt and sanding dust.
    2. Instruction #1
    3. Paint the entire shelf with Lace. Allow the paint to dry between coats. (For this look, do not push the paint into the flaws or the grain to allow the age to show through.)
    4. Instruction #2
    5. Using a hand-sander, sand over the entire cabinet with a medium-grit sandpaper. Be sure to get all edges for a rustic look.
    6. Instruction #3
    7. For added durability, coat the entire shelf with Ultra-Matte Varnish.
    8. If desired, secure file a cabinet nameplate beneath each cubby hole.
